T-Ball

Jackson last week started playing T-ball! I can’t believe he is old enough to start playing in sports! He has so much fun. He has always enjoyed playing baseball, we even bought him a tee last year for him to play with. He asks everyday now if he has a game. He is really good at hitting the ball off the tee. I think he is going to enjoy playing this sport, and he looks so cute in his oversized shirt and too big hat!

The games are so cute to watch. They let each team bat twice, and play in the outfield twice. The only problem Jackson has, is that he always wants to get the ball. When there are 7 kids in the outfield trying to get the ball, odds are he isn’t going to get the ball every time. He has had a few fits but tonight he didn’t throw any and we were so proud of him.

He has games twice a week now for the next 6 weeks, and I am going to love all of it. It is so much fun to watch my children grow up. Eli completely wishes he could play. He tries so hard to be in the field or to take a turn at the tee. Next year Eli!

Toronto

Paul and I had the chance to go to Toronto Canada just the two of us for a few days. Paul had a work conference there, and I said, “hey, I am coming this time!” I am so glad that I did. We had so much fun together just the two of us. We left the kids in the care of their Grandma Mayne for a few days, and also a close family friend.

Paul and I ate some really good food. My favorite being a Japanese place called Dazzling. We went to a Toronto Blue Jays game. Which I have to say was fun. I am not one to watch baseball on TV, but live is a whole other story. I am glad that we went. Plus we got to sit outside in the warm sun, which is still not shining at my house. We also walked around, swam in the pool, and soaked in the hot tub. It was a good time. Paul and I haven’t been away just the two of us in almost 2 years so this was really nice. We had fun just being able to go wherever we wanted without worrying about if it was kid friendly, or packing a diaper bag. We also got some much needed sleep as Jackson is still sleeping on our bedroom floor.

I will post pictures soon, but I have to say, I really liked the city of Toronto. I liked the architecture, the cultural diversity, and the food. I really hope we have the chance to go back someday and to do more exploring. Thanks babe for the fun trip. I am all the more excited for our cruise without kids at the end of August!!

Horton Hears A Who

So after 3 spring like days, the weather turned really sour again. So I decided I needed to do something fun with my kids to break up the day. So today I decided to be brave and take both boys to see Horton Hears A Who. Eli has never been to a movie so this could either be good or not. We went in the afternoon today. I figured most people don’t go to a movie on a Wednesday afternoon and this movie has been out for a while. I was right. There were 8 people including us in the theater. Two of them were kids exactly my kids age. Jackson did well. He loved the movie. He kept laughing and I could tell he enjoyed it. Eli did well the first hour. He would switch seats or sit on the stairs, but he did well. The last 20 minutes he got a little restless, but nothing that would bother the other people in the theater. I was quite happy. So all in all, taking the boys to the movie was a fun Wednesday adventure for us!

New Eyes

For the past 2 months my eyes have been red, and dry, and it has been hard for me to wear my contacts! I finally went to the eye doctor and he told me that my eyes were horribly dry, and that my perscription was outdated. He recommended a new kind of contact lense and solution for me. He is also giving me a new lense that will fix my astigmatism in my left eye. I have been wearing the new contacts for a few days now, and using the new contact solution and it is like night and day! My eyes feel so much better, and look so much better. (meaning the red is gone!) Paul and I also went out and ordered me some new glasses. I am actually excited to wear glasses more often than I have been. I think the new frames are cute and I feel comfortable wearing them. Needless to say I am very happy I went to the eye doctor!

ps. I just found out that the astigmatism contact won’t work in my eye! My eye did not  like it at all! Oh well, the other new contacts are working fabulous and I have never been able to see clear with the astigmatism so no biggie.

Eli Turns 2!!

Monday March 31 was Eli’s second birthday! However, due to scheduling conflicts, we held his party on Sunday the 30th. We had Paul’s family and my aunt, uncle and cousins over for cake and ice cream. It was a fun afternoon. Eli got many wonderful presents. Go Diego Go toys, sand toys for the sand box, a leap frog alphabet toy, a fisher price 4 wheeler for him to drive this summer,  some cars, marbles for a marble game we have, and a football. He didn’t fully understand what was going on, but Jackson and our niece Maddy helped him out. When we were all singing to him, he had the biggest grin on his face because he realized he was the center of attention. He didn’t eat any of his birthday cake, just ate as much ice cream as he could. What a sweetheart! I seriously can’t believe my baby is 2!

Yesterday I took Eli to his 2 year check up. He is 37 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. That puts him in the 90% for height and 70% for weight. He is one healthy boy! He is going to be taller than his older brother but oh well that happens. Eli has blossomed the past 3 weeks. 3 weeks ago he said about 3 words, and then all of a sudden he took off. He now says over 40 words and adds new words every day. He has gained some independence, which makes me sad, I can’t carry him anymore! He interacts with his brother more and has just turned into such a little boy! I am excited for this phase in life. I love watching personalities blossom and for children to figure out who they are.

I still can’t believe my baby is 2!!

Happy Birthday Eli!!!
